Sedgwick County continues to report record breaking numbers of COVID cases where 1 in 5 tests are positive. We have also continued to hear of some possible cases and exposure in our community over the last week or so. The Emergency committee and BOA have concluded to extend the closure of the Masjid till January 2021. We will keep you posted Insha Allah.
It has been a very difficult year for many. As a community it is our responsibility to take care of the house of Allah, and to help the people who seek our assistant. As Muslims, this is the perfect opportunity for us to invest in our Aakhira. Whether it maybe towards the Masjid (Utilities, facility’s maintenance, etc.) or towards the many in need from our community or outside.
If Allah has blessed you to not be affected, keep in mind of those who are in need and maintenance of the Masjid. There are many ways to show your support listed below, you can donate to ISW by the following payment options:
At this time, we are not taking any food items as donation or clothing. May Allah reward you for your good intentions.
Dear ISW members and Al-salaamu alaykum,
This is the final notification regarding the Special General Body Meeting (GBM) that was requested by some ISW members.
The total number of petitions received by the membership committee is less than 1% of the total eligible ISW voting members. The 20% threshold required to move forward with the special GBM was not met and therefore, no special GBM (for the identified purpose) will be scheduled.
The membership committee wants to thank everyone that has participated.
May Allah bless us all with peace, health, happiness, patience, strength and highest rank in Jannah. Wishing you and your family Eid Mubarak!
The Islamic Society of Wichita stands in solidarity with our brothers and sisters. We can not witness racism, discrimination and violence without calling our community to stand with the oppressed in support of true justice and condemn police brutality. We unconditionally believe that Black Lives Matter.
May Allah swt grant justice to the oppressed and grant relief to those who have suffered and currently suffer.
"Oh believers! Stand firm for justice as witnesses for Allah even if it is aganist yourselves, your parents, or close relatives. Be they rich or poor, Allah is best to ensure interests. So do not let your desires cause you to deviate from justice. If you distort testimony or refuse to give it, then know that Allah is certainly All-Aware of what you do." Quran 4:135.
Assalamulaikum, Respected brothers and sisters in Islam,
As we continue to navigate the precautions of the corona-virus, we want to thank you for your patience and support during this time!
We have received questions from community members and wanted to share some updates with you:
During these unprecedented times, we turn to Allah subhanahu wata3allah and ask for His Trust, His Mercy, His Grace, His Patience. May Allah swt allow His home to open for us soon, and for our hearts to respond more regularly to His invitation.
Jazak Allahu Khairun!
